Thinking of becoming an Arizona notary public? Here's how:
Step 1: Fill out an application, and read over the instructions. The Secretary of State is very specific about its instructions and will send back your application for any discrepancy in your name or any blank fields. Step 2: Show us your application so we can issue the bond. You can either mail the payment with your application, or bring them by in-person, although most people prefer to come in since Alisha will notarize the bond free-of-charge for notary customers who bring in an unexpired government-issued ID.The basic price for a notary bond is $50, but we also offer bonds packaged with Notary Errors and Omissions policies for an additional fee (see table below for pricing). This coverage would come into play in the event of a lawsuit due to mistakes or false claims made as a notary.
Step 3: Send your application, the bond that we provide you, a copy of your Driver's License, and a $43 check to the Secretary or State. It will take about 10 daysto receive your commission certificate designating you as a notary public.Once received, bring it to any office supply store to order an ink notary stamp and purchase a notary journal. You will need to repeat this process every four years.
